In the latest episode of Nerd Out, Dave goes solo again to handle some common questions he faces, but only after sharing some of his thoughts on the Olympics and his favorite T.V. shows. Then getting down to business, Dave talked about three important security issues – starting your security plan (now), getting into the business (be flexible and get your foot in the door), and the security shortage (invest in your people). Security is a challenge but it’s even harder when you put it off time and time again – get started and refine and improve. Dave then gets on his soapbox and tells others to get off his yard when talking about getting into the business, while having organizations stop complaining about the lack of talent and instead investing in their own to build a strong workforce. Along the way, Dave even said a nice thing about Andy.
The Nerd Out is hosted by Dave Pounder, a Senior Risk Analyst for Gate. Twitter: @dpounder; email: [email protected].
