Analysis

We operate in a dynamic, evolving threat environment.
Leaders need to understand these evolving threats, the associated risks, and the best practices and mitigation actions they can take to reduce risk and bolster their security and resilience.

Gate 15 provides technology-enhanced, human-driven, homeland security risk management to protect our nation’s people, places, data, and dollars. That includes all-hazards intelligence and threat information services and products to inform situational awareness, preparedness, and to penetrate the decision-making cycle to help inform time-sensitive decisions effecting operations, security, and resources.

Since 2017, following the WannaCry ransomware outbreak, Gate 15 has been at the forefront of pioneering discussions on Blended Threats, also known as “cyber-physical” threats, though the concept of blended threats is broader and more inclusive. Our work, including the report Blended Threats (update 1.1): Understanding an Evolving Threat Environment,” has diligently raised awareness about these complex threats through comprehensive reports, analyses, exercises, and various activities. It is encouraging to see recent acknowledgments from The White House and other leaders recognizing the significance of these threats, including the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) report on fortifying the nation’s cyber-physical systems. These systems are the integrated digital and infrastructural resources that are crucial to Americans’ daily lives, including the electrical grid, public water systems, internet and telecommunications, banking systems, air traffic control, and much more.

Gate 15 remains at the forefront of assessing threat environments for America, offering subscriptions to daily reports, podcasts, and other services that provide invaluable insights into understanding threats, risks, and effective mitigation strategies today.

Hostile Events Preparedness Series

Recognizing that organizations can no longer attempt to silo cyber and physical security and operations, our team brings unique experience across the all-hazards environment supporting cyber and physical threat intelligence, operations and preparedness.

Gate 15’s Hostile Events Preparedness Series (HEPS) gives organizations a complete resilience solution to address hostile events threats, such as active shooters, workplace violence, low-tech terrorism, complex, coordinated terrorist attacks, and related security concerns.

We conduct a full series of events – from education to full-scale exercises – on an individual basis or as a complete series based on the needs and fit for each organization.
