We operate in a dynamic, evolving threat environment.
Leaders need to understand these evolving threats, the associated risks, and the best practices and mitigation actions they can take to reduce risk and bolster their security and resilience.
Since 2017, following the WannaCry ransomware outbreak, Gate 15 has been at the forefront of pioneering discussions on Blended Threats, also known as “cyber-physical” threats, though the concept of blended threats is broader and more inclusive. Our work, including the report “Blended Threats (update 1.1): Understanding an Evolving Threat Environment,” has diligently raised awareness about these complex threats through comprehensive reports, analyses, exercises, and various activities. It is encouraging to see recent acknowledgments from The White House and other leaders recognizing the significance of these threats, including the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) report on fortifying the nation’s cyber-physical systems. These systems are the integrated digital and infrastructural resources that are crucial to Americans’ daily lives, including the electrical grid, public water systems, internet and telecommunications, banking systems, air traffic control, and much more.
Gate 15 remains at the forefront of assessing threat environments for America, offering subscriptions to daily reports, podcasts, and other services that provide invaluable insights into understanding threats, risks, and effective mitigation strategies today.
